We are Cougar Robotics!
At Sam Houston Elementary, we have our own robotics team, Cougar Robotics. Students participating in Cougar Robotics prepare to solve real-world problems while working collaboratively. The goal of Cougar Robotics is to learn the true meaning of teamwork and friendly competition. We would rather help a team in need instead of winning. To us, winning is not necessarily everything.
Currently, we have partnered with First and Lego to lead a First Lego League. In this league, students work in teams and research real-world problems for which they must develop a solution. Such solution includes programming a robot EV3 which assists with solving the real-world problem selected. This school year students will resolve a challenge involving the social or physical difficulties astronauts encounter during long missions in space.
The 2018-2019 Cougar Robotics team (TEAM #37041) is composed of 6 girls and 5 boys. They meet on Mondays after school with occasional Saturdays for programming.
